New York Content Updated With New Paid Sick Leave Law

The New York Other Leaves, New Hire Paperwork, Labor Relations Overview, Employee Communications and Employee Discipline sections of the Employment Law Manual have been updated to reflect a new law requiring certain New York City employers to provide eligible employees with up to five paid sick days each calendar year. The law takes effect April 1, 2014, for employers with 20 or more employees and October 1, 2015, for employers with 15 to 19 employees and those with one domestic worker.
